Good Sushi Bad Service This is not all you can eat, it is all you can "bare". We went in with 7 people and ordered about 12 rolls. Nothing major considering the size of our group. Two hours later we finally received all 12. We had already ordered more figuring they had forgot some of the first 12. No big deal, right, so we flag down the server who had pretty much disappeared after taking the initial order. After we order a second round of sushi, the remainder of the first order finally comes out some time later. We didn't even bother waiting for our re-order which had been placed an hour into the ordeal. We just told them to cancel it (not that we would have ever gotten them). This is not all you can eat if they won't serve you anything. They literally had one person making sushi for an entire restaurant. I can get two rolls somewhere else and get more food.

All-you-can-eat-made-to-order sushi buffet for 12.95 for lunch, 21.95 for dinner with a larger selection. High-quality fresh sushi, especially the rolls. High ingredient to rice ratio which is awesome. This place is a gem and i dont know why it is not currently rated higher on Yelp. I hope this place stays around for a long time.

Came in tonight on a Tuesday, service is horrible. Waited 30 minutes for someone to take order. Another hour for food. And getting drink refills was near impossible. Food is good, but service was baaaad tonight.

I've been here a couple of times and at first it was decent. But honestly, the last time I was back...the quality of service wasn't up to par. Same goes for the quality of the fish. Granted you can't expect much for an all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant that only charges $22. Furthermore, as someone who loves sushi and has been to the piers in Los Angeles, and the fresh fish market in Baja - I've had infinitely better sushi and sashimi. Doesn't look like I'm going to want to return - the wait staff was inconsistent at best - overly attentive and completely negligent at the same time. As for the quality of food - the avocados are this unusual shade of yellow and green and never actually oxidize. Now as a transplanted Californian I have to ask - what the f*** is up with avocados that are neon yellow and green and never oxidize!?! What kind of chemicals are being used to maintain their color. And if they do that to avocados, what the f*** are they doing with the fish??

Been coming here for years. The service is great, everyone is so friendly. Their all-you-can-eat sushi is a steal and the sushi is always fresh-tasting. I'd recommend their filet mignon roll. Yum.

Can't beat an all you can eat Sushi for $12.99 during lunch time! We went on a Sunday and it was definitely a great choice for lunch! Best Bang for your buck! Other AYCE sushi places cost more than this ridiculously low price! The AYCE works by filling out a check list of food items that range from appetizers like, egg drop soup, crab ranggoons, BBQ chicken sticks, gyoza...then you can check off all the sushi that you want! Great selection, while none of the super special rolls or sashimi are on the list, noteable mentions are the New York Roll which is like a Vegas Roll (DEEP FRIED SUSHI GOODNESS) and many common rolls! It is a great place to eat with friends...there's just something about the social factor of sharing plates full of sushi...just brings happiness to my heart! Lol I love Sushi and they may not be the the most special sushi in the world...they are a great bargain price to hungry sushi lovers that don't want to spend over a hundred dollars on one meal! So come on and eat at Asian Palace for a budget lunch gem in Kansas! Happy Eating!

So, since my last review, in the last 2 months I have eaten at this restaurant about 10 times. I ordered takeout a second time, I took my family there for my birthday, my mom fell in love with it so we went there for Mother's Day, and my boyfriend and I just ordered dinner for tonight. This place is incredible. I have never been disappointed. The best General Tso's chicken I've ever had. It's so crispy and succulent. The sauce isn't too spicy, but that's okay; the other flavors make up for it. And even though they use chicken thighs, it doesn't taste like mystery meat like other places I've tried. Best hot and sour and egg drop soup. I've done they're all you can eat sushi and it's deliciously fresh. Their pickled ginger is it die for. Oh and their gyoza, just shut up right now and go try it. Their service is also fantastic. They have the same waitresses there and they are all so sweet. When my family and I went on Mother's Day, we chose to sit in the largest booth they have there. Me, being incredibly indecisive, moved spots and my family around about five times. After about five minutes, our waitress came up and said jokingly, "I see we're finally settled here". It made my freaking day lol. I just love this place. You need to go check it out.

Can't beat the price for all you can eat sushi and sashimi. The food is fresh. The wait staff seems like they're not into this whole customer service thing. It's also a waiting game to get our second round of sushi, even during non-peak hours. So we now order everything we can imagine on the first go around. We were kindly reminded that there is a charge for leftovers. Our response, this is not our first rodeo. They were not amused by the comment. Nonetheless, our plates were emptied and walked out like an Emperor Penguin.

All you can eat sushi is absolutely perfect. Sashimi, nigiri, and rolls are all included for 21.95$. For all you can eat, the price was great, but the food was even better. Service was good. All of the waiters at the time of our dining experience waited on us at some point, which was confusing. They were quick to refill out glasses and in taking our order. We'll be back. For the cost and fresh output that we get...we'll be back!

Overall nice place, clean, friendly and priced accordingly. The all you can is a great value. I recommend that if you like sushi and want to treat a first timer this is great place without breaking the bank. Food was fresh and tasty.

We just moved to Leawood and luckily this place was still within five miles and delivered when my son went down for a late nap. He the shrimp lo mein (when he woke up). I ordered sushi and it was very good, especially for take out. I tasted fresh but I did order early at 4:30. The lady who answered the phone was patient. Overall, I enjoyed my meal and the service.

The parking was plentiful and there were not a lot of people here around 6:30pm on a Saturday. I met with my Foodspotting group to eat some sushi and there were 9 of us. The restaurant was bright and there were a number of booths along the wall. We all decided to do the all you can eat sushi for $21.95 per person. There was a note on the menu that you will be charged $1 for every piece of sushi left over and there was no sharing (probably with people that didn't order the all you can eat sushi. The list of sushi was small but still good to choose from. I chose the Filet Mignon, the KU, Volcano, and Sex on Beach rolls. I added the Hot and Sour soup, too. All of us put in our orders at the same time. We waited a few minutes before the soup or salad came. The Hot and Sour soup was good and it was a long time since I tasted good Hot and Sour soup. Afterwards, we waited a long time for all of our sushi to come out. There were only three sushi makers so I'm sure they were also working on the rest of the tables. I think there were only like two waitresses and it was packed later in the night. It was probably because the college basketball games were shown on two of their TVs. The sushi looked good and almost everybody took pictures. The Filet Mignon was my favorite roll out of the four I ordered. I don't remember if I had something like that at other sushi places, but it was definitely one of those memorable rolls in my opinion. The KU roll was not bad and it looked like there was a nacho chip stuck in it but it wasn't. lol The Volacno roll was good and might be spicy to some even though each roll only had a dot of hot sauce. Last but not least, the Sex on Beach rolls were delicious and would recommend it if you like tempura. I was pretty full after I finished everything but if I had room, then I would have ordered the Filet Mignon roll again. Everything tasted fresh to me so that's good. Good sushi here and I wouldn't mind coming back.

What's the most important to you when you choose a place to eat sushi? 1. Quality, taste and freshness? - Amazing fresh food made to order. Hands down the best sushi I've had in area. 2. Price? Reasonable prices, especially the all you can eat lunch/dinner. $13 for lunch and $22 for dinner-you can't beat it! 3. Ambiance? This restaurant is boring and needs a makeover. It's very dark and dull. Definitely not a place to go on a first date. 4. Service? Biggest complaint is that the food takes forever. We were the only two people in the restaurant and our three roles took 25 minutes. (It is fresh though) the waitresses are average at best. The servers hardly checked on us. Final review: Expect excellent food in a boring environment. Great take out! Food is fast and fresh.

My bf and I went here for Valentine's Day around 5:30PM and set a reservation as well just in case. We both did the sushi buffet to try it out. We had sex on the beach, dragon, Ect and 4/5 of the rolls were bland and had roe on it. Wasn't a fan at all, we had read the descriptions too to make sure we would like the ingredients and it never mentioned roe. We were really excited to try this place out since it did the all you can eat everyday and anytime but we're disappointed with the quality. We'll be sticking to sake for our sushi cravings now.

Overall, not bad. I was in town for a business trip and craving sushi but didn't want anything fancy. This place fit the bill perfectly. We have made-to-order all-u-can eat sushi places near me back home so I was familar with the concept. Sushi was surprisingly fresh and tasty. I tried the crab rangoon based on other yelp reviews, they were better than most. So were the gyozas. Hot and sour soup was pretty yummy as well. If lived in the area I would definitely come back.

The place looks pretty clean. Lots of tables, great for big groups. They have booths and tables. Our food came out really fast. Sushi is very good for an all you can eat place. You can also order all you can eat appetizers i.e edamame, soups, egg rolls, fried shrimp and more.

Will not go back....EVER. Bad Sushi. Bad Service. Chinese food...ok. For a place that offers all you can eat sushi...they should probably get some quality rice(dry) and fresh seafood. Could have paid half the price at a chinese buffet with sushi and got the same quality food and more variety. They filled our drinks (that was good...) We overpaid for the service/quality of food that we got and probably over tipped because we didn't want to be jackasses We went in for dinner around 7 and not sure what time they closed but they tried to kick us out at about 8:30. Atleast that's what it felt like before we were finished eating they asked if we wanted a box and they'd charge us for whatever we didn't eat because the lady didn't want us to get sick. We had a few people in our party and our bill was about $150...I'd like to atleast enjoy the dinner and time there.

Great crab Rangoon. Sushi is pretty good too. Granted, not the best I've ever had but one of the only places where you can get it delivered. KU roll is my favorite. They are my first choice when I want Chinese or sushi delivered!

Love the all you can eat sushi. Good variety of options on the all you can eat menu. Options are fresh and delicious. Service is quick and very attentive. Staff is always very friendly. Pricing is very reasonable, I would pay a lot more at other places for lower quality. This is the place to go if you like sushi. Don't expect frills and fancy rolls, just delicious food.

I've only been here once for lunch. I decided to try it out because I had a craving for sushi and I received a coupon in the mail. Like Joe H. said, the service is excellent. The hot towels were a surprise in this strip-mall location, and the server (owner?) was very attentive. My friend and I went the Japanese route and ordered 4 of the signature maki rolls. I don't remember that much about the experience, so I know it wasn't stellar - hence the 3-star rating - but I'm sure it warrants another visit. The soup and appetizers weren't anything special as I recall, but we thought the sushi was very good. The sushi selection and creative maki offerings make it a place to try out for sushi lovers. We ordered mochi for dessert. While the presentation was fabulous - it included chocolate sauce and whipped cream - the mochi tasted old and like it had been in the freezer too long or thawed and refrozen. The ice cream center was good, but the outer mochi coating wasn't chewy like it should be - it was more crumbly than anything. I would try it again, but would probably skip the appetizers and dessert.

Terrible sushi....if your sushi rice isn't fresh? What can that say about the rest....lemme tell you how bad it was the Arctic clams were sliced in half, the sushi rice was so dry it, immediately fell apart as soon as you picked it up w/ chopsticks!!! 4 of us out of 7 people had the $21.95 sushi buffet deal...its more like you pay that I give you shitty sushi quality and mayo drenched rolls, so I can charge you extra if you don't eat it all....haha....then it gets worse...the manager/owner came up to us and said "Its okay, we don't want you too eat more than you have too, you can take it home, and we'll charge you extra" WTF we weren't even done yet.....The server we had for that evening the whole time, didn't care to tell us what he was serving us each time he came to drop off the dishes, LITERALLY " JUST DROP OFF" THE FOOD...won't ever go back here... If you want All You Can Eat Sushi...check out RED GINGER 135TH AND METCALF $17.95...BETTER QUALITY FRESH SUSHI, EXCELLENT SERVICE...let me also mention this is a CHINESE-OWNED SUSHI PLACE ALSO, BUT HE KNOWS HOW TO RUN A BUSINESS TO HAVE PEOPLE COME BACK : ) not just to get them for $21.95 one time and not to ever come back : (

I was wondering which is worse. This restaurant or Yummy Chinese on Metcalf but I think this one wins. I am sure if I offered this to my dogs they probably wouldn't eat it. This is without a doubt the WORSE Asian food I have ever had in my life.

My friend and I went there for the lunch "buffet" and it's more like all you can eat off a menu (which you would think would be a great idea, but not so much). It was OK, but the wait staff was not overly friendly. I have no need to go back.

I would like to tell everyone that I have been going to the Asian Palace in Stanley Plaza since not long after they opened, I gave them great reviews on Urban Spoon before I discovered Yelp. We moved here from the east coast and I personally believe that most KC area "Asian" restaurants are the WORST IN THE WORLD! Maybe they have worse ones in Benghazi, but as far as the US is concerned this area has some of the worst I've ever seen. Oh and I avoid reviewing chains, like P F Changs.. So when I find a place that has some good Chinese - Japanese - Thai - Vietnamese - Philippino - Asian I believe the word needs to get out. I've only eaten dinner here and each and every time not only is the service excellent, they do offer the traditional Oshibori or hand towel, but they are very attentive while being very unobtrusive thoughout the dinner service. My absolute favorite entree is the Crispy Shrimp and Walnuts. I usually am not a fan of sweeter meals, but this dish is absolutely amazing! My 4 year old duaghter loves the Maki Sushi (she's very advanced, her favorite snack is Beluga Caviar.) After the five of us had appetizers and entrees, Harry Chen the young man running the show out front, sent over a desert plate gratis. I wish I could post a picture. It had three servings of Red Bean, Green Tea and Ubi Ice Cream dressed along a gorgeously prepared fried banana, topped with fresh whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate. An hour and half later everyone was stuffed, happy and totally satiated. Then the bill came, and I was shocked! The total for the five of us, was less then $65.00. That's just about what it would have cost to feed the five of us at Applebee's! Look go there for DINNER and experiment a little. I saw a couple last night devouring Tempura Prawns like they had never eaten before. Harry and the staff all came here from New York (well via New York LOL,) and they can deliver the goods. The Sushi is Western Style not edomae nigirizushi as I've had it in Japan, but it is fresh, tight, very palatable and complements the other ASIAN dishes. Just ask them to recommend something from their Signature Dishes. Unfortunately this week I am moving to Denver. I will miss this place very much.

I need to start by saying I've only been here one time. I went based on positive reviews I read elsewhere. I must say, I hope my experience was just a one time bad day. I got the pad thai lunch special, which came with soup (wonton), and my dining companion also ordered crab rangoon. I wasn't a fan of any of it to tell the truth. I found the wonton soup's broth to be pretty bland, the wontons were ok. The crab rangoon was a little sweet for my tastes, but I'm not generally a fan of crab rangoons in general so... Now, the pad thai was a bit unusual. It had an off, pink coloration that I didn't find appealing. I've seen something similar once before - at Ruby Thai in the Oak Park Mall when they first opened. They have since changed to Lo Mein or something...I didn't try their pad thai so I don't know if the similarities stop at color. Anyway, the service was outstanding. They give you warm towels once you sit down for crying out loud. Their servers are friendly and attentive...great stuff. Also, for what it's worth, my friend loved everything we ordered so maybe it is just me I encourage others to try it and post a review just to get some more opinions on here

We met some friends here on a Saturday night for the all you can eat sushi. It took a VERY long time before anyone took our order and that was not good because I hadnt eaten all day so I could get the best value on the all you can eat deal. But once they did take our order the food came fairly quickly. I was happy with the sushi. I made a point of ordering the most extravagant rolls only and they were all delicious. The filet mignon roll was probably the favorite of the group. I also liked it that the all you can eat menu included soups and some appetizers, since my husband is not that into sushi. Its really a great deal if you love sushi. I did read that if you do not finish all the sushi you order you have to pay extra. I understand that its all made to order and sushi is expensive so they dont want to be wasting, but they shouldnt force you to eat something unless they offer samples before you order, so you'll know if you like it or not. Or maybe they could let you not finish one thing, and then if you dont finish another thing, then charge extra. Including sake in the all you can eat would be cool, although I doubt they'd do that. I love sushi; it was good, the value was excellent!

Each and every time I have dined at Asian Palace, I have been pleased with freshness, creativity and friendliness. The staff knows what they are serving, the portions are generous as is the all-you-can-eat menu which contains soup, appetizers, salad, sushi and sashimi. We eat here at least twice a week and will continue to do so.

I love Asian palace's all you can eat sushi for $21.95. Sit at the sushi bar and watch both the game and the sushi chef make delicious rolls. Two of the best are the KU roll, a large, tasty roll w cream cheese and seafood topped with a crunchy nacho chip, and the filet mignon roll, which the chef torches before delivery. The service couldn't be nicer, and there is also a full Chinese menu if someone in your party isn't a sushi fan.

I stopped by Asian Palace after a long day of moving boxes. I was exhausted and starving, so though I was skeptical when I saw the menu and locale, I decided to just give it a try. You know, it wasn't bad. I had the udon and split a salmon roll. The service and quality of the food was way beyond what I expected. I'll definitely be back to try the sushi deal and other things on their menu.

First of all let me just say this place is great. Only complaint i have is that when i have a craving for chinese food on a monday...they arent open to cater to that. I order the same thing every time for the most part and its ALWAYS delicious. My companion always does the all you can eat sushi which is cheap and great. I however get the House fried rice. basically combo fried rice. Nothing special right? wrong. They add peppers to the mix...which i dont actually eat as im not a fan of cooked pepper texture but damn it if they dont add an amazing flavor. The gyoza and steamed dumplings are delicious and the egg rolls are always on point. Service is usually pretty prompt. I will be returning here. Just a little sad that i live out of their delivery area. Oh and they also do a 10% off on cash purchases!

Not bad. We've probably been here at least a half dozen times now. The kid has had the all-you-can-eat sushi each time. I had a Chinese entree once, the Mongolian beef, and it was good. Last night was the unlimited sushi for both of us. Their unlimited sushi is not off a buffet, but made-to-order and includes fresh-made apps and starters. I'm a big fan of their gyoza (fried dumplings), so I ordered a dozen for us. I've spent the last 6 years or so sushi'd out, so I don't consider filling up on other things a waste of space. Their miso soup is a bit more potent than most sushi places; they must use a darker miso, maybe even Korean, rather than Japanese. The house salad is served with ginger dressing. For sashimi, we had white tuna and salmon. White tuna was grand. Salmon was a bit off according to my nose, but perfectly fine to my mouth. For nigiri, my son had white tuna and yellowtail. I had the tuna and it was absolutely foul. I had to spit it out. For rolls, the kid had the philly. We shared a spider, caterpillar, and some blue crab roll I can't remember the name of. All of those were good. Service is actually really good, but sometimes slow. They're definitely friendly. It's a great way to get $100+ worth of sushi for under $50 for two people. I probably wouldn't bring friends here talking it up, but if you want to get your fill on cheap sushi, this place is great.

This is simply incredibly food. I eat there once a week plus sometimes take out during the week too. Tonight I am picking up a full dinner for 4 to take to my sons home in Olathe. Its always hot and delicious. The restaurant is always clean and tidy and friendly staff. The staff are focused on getting your food out asap and that I appreciate. So, if your looking for a song and dance you need to go elsewhere. These folks are professionals and do their jobs well. I would like to say Thanks for bring your restaurant to our community.

I wish I could go back in time to stop myself from having their Vegetable Pad Thai. Not only was the said item not even remotely close to Pad Thai in quality or authenticity, it wasn't even edible to begin with. It smelled unappetising (it filled the whole room with an odour curiously reminiscent of sweat) and tasted god awful. A few morsels down and I had to trash everything. I fortunately had some soft drink at home to wash it down with or I would've had to suffer the consequences of my mistake all day long. Now, I do not want to discourage anyone from visiting this restaurant but only to caution them from having their Vegetable Pad Thai.
